It is a casual group that meets as much for socializing as wine tasting. Each member or member couple takes a turn hosting the group once during the year. The host couple selects the wines for tasting and provides information as to where they were purchased and their cost. The members split the cost of the wines tasted. Everyone brings an appetizer or dessert to share.

Please contact Angela if you are interested in being included in the group emails regarding plants, gardens, and labor sharing.

Walking Group

Contact Sabrina Vandenbroeck. Looking for motivation to get moving? Need companionship to make exercising more enjoyable? No more excuses! Let’s keep moving, in spite of the cold weather. We are still able to walk the new walking paths and explore the different neighborhoods of Shaker. Occasionally we will stop for coffee and socializing at the end of our walk, and may venture to an out-of-the-way place for an interesting change of pace.

The Walking Group needs a NEW LEADER.   If interested in leading the Walking group, please contact Kristina Gobel, or for more information, e-mail

Have an Idea for a New Activity?

Looking for a yoga group? Needlework? Photography? Bridge? Another idea? If you would like to start a new club, contact Kristina Gobel or information to give us your ideas.

Activities must be open to all Club members. Additional fees for activities are acceptable. An effort should be made to schedule the activity at a time that does not conflict with another club activity. Approval of the activity is dependent upon the Board’s review.

Prospective EWC members are welcome to be a guest at an activity. However, ongoing participation and activity hosting is limited to EWC members.
