 Join the Eastside Welcome Club Board!

Nominations are accepted in the spring for Eastside Welcome Club Board positions for the following year, which begins June 1. To nominate yourself or someone else, please contact Rhonda Dorfman or information@eastsidewelcomeclub.com. The following is a description of Board responsibilities.

Club Officers

President:

Preside over all meetings of the Club, the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

First Vice President:

Serves as Program Chairperson; fills in for president, when required

Second Vice President:

Arranges the locations and menus for Club luncheons, makes logistical arrangements for luncheons and takes luncheon reservations; presides in the absence of president and first vice president.

Recording Secretary:

Takes minutes at the board meetings, and makes these and other reports available to board and membership.

Corresponding Secretary:

Prepares all Club correspondence; sends cards to members and guest speakers; notifies members by e-mail of upcoming activities and meetings; arranges for luncheon reminders.

Treasurer:

Sets up banking; oversees collection of dues; keeps accurate records of finances and reports financial standing to board each month; drafts budget at the beginning of the year; disburses funds as needed.

President Elect/Ways and Means:

Learns the duties of the president; assists the board if a position becomes open; takes charge of the charities and benevolent projects; sells raffle tickets and turns over charity proceeds to treasurer; arranges for raffle prize for luncheons.

Committee Chairs

Membership/Directory:

Maintains up-to-date list of members; collects dues from members with Treasurer; keeps updated membership database; prepares and distributes membership directory.

Hospitality:

Plans and attends coffees and wine and cheese socials; chairs party-planning committees.

Prospectives:

Contacts prospective members to inform them about the Club and its activities; facilitates Club membership for those interested.

Activities/Member News:

Coordinates activities and their submissions to the newsletter; determines that all activity participants are members in good standing; informs activity chairs of new member interests; informs newsletter chair of any changes in club activities.

Newsletter/Website:

Formats, edits and arranges to have the monthly newsletter printed and sent to Club membership and prospective members. Maintains and updates the Eastside Welcome Club website.

Outreach (proposed):

Researches and contacts organizations in the Northeast Ohio community which might serve as referral sources for new members; follows up on inquiries from local organizations and community groups who would like to establish a connection with EWC; informs members about opportunities for volunteer involvement in the community.
